Patients
Challenge
It often takes months to recover after surgery or other treatments. Full recovery time varies for each person and is partially influenced by age and overall physical condition. It also depends on a patient’s motivation and ability to adhere to the recovery program.
The recovery period is not easy. While recovering, patients will have to limit many of their normal activities, including work and driving. It can be intensely painful and difficult at times, due to both the operation and medicines prescribed. Patients may experience pain, swelling or fatigue.
It’s also not uncommon for patients to experience bouts of depression. Some people experience depression as a natural result of recovery from invasive surgery, which is a traumatic and weakening physical experience. Other people become depressed because they may feel isolated or inactive during recovery. Adherence to a recovery program or medication regimen is often inconsistent at best.
Solution
INTERxVENT works for recovering patients by establishing a personalized action plan and providing the ongoing mentorship required to help patients stick to their medications, exercise, diets and all other required post-surgery prescriptions.
Studies have shown that participation in INTERxVENT programs by those recovering from surgeries, including post-myocardial infarction and post-coronary artery bypass graft surgeries, can stand to make substantial improvements in multiple CBD risk factors.1
An INTERxVENT program for patients consists of a health risk assessment (HRA) and sophisticated algorithms used to stratify patients according to modifiable biological and behavioural risk levels. To help patients with their recovery, they are provided with personalized goals and action plans, customized educational kits (delivered as self-help and mentor-assisted programs), and an extensive database that allows for the real-time tracking of their outcomes.
INTERxVENT’s program is particularly advantageous for recovering patients and their needs. It incorporates state-of-the-art technology that integrates a biometric collection process for seamless auto-population of objective measures (fasting blood test results, blood pressure, height, weight, and waist circumference). This strategy works to increase the effectiveness of the program, and to ensure its safety.
